Football Queensland has today announced a new partnership with international sports apparel brand Kappa, with the iconic football kitwear provider revealed as the preferred apparel supplier for the state’s governing body.
The new four-year partnership will see Kappa produce and provide quality on and off-field apparel for all Queensland State Representative teams including the state’s futsal representative squads. Kappa will also provide on-field apparel for the game’s referees from 2018 onwards.
Instantly recognised on football fields and futsal courts around the globe, Kappa has provided cutting edge garments for some of the world’s best players and biggest teams including Manchester City, Juventus, AC Milan and the Italian National team.
Football Queensland’s Chief Executive Officer Geoff Foster was pleased to announce a partnership with a brand which boasts over 100 years of footballing history.
“We are delighted to partner with a brand with such a rich football heritage and shared vision for growing the game in football for Queensland,” Mr Foster said.
“Kappa is highly respected internationally and a perfect fit to support us in leading football forward.”
As the state’s governing body, Football Queensland provides development pathways for the 10 regional zones around the state, consisting of over 300 clubs.
Kappa Australia CEO Ze’ev Bogaty echoed Foster’s comments and expressed his excitement at welcoming Football Queensland to the Kappa Brand.
“We are very pleased to have come to an agreement with Football Queensland and would like to thank Mr Foster and the administrative team who have been an extremely professional organisation to work with as we established what we hope will become a strong, long-term and extremely beneficial partnership for both organisations.”
“The partnership is a fantastic opportunity to support the State’s elite representatives on the national stage as well as assist in the continued growth of grass roots clubs and regional teams which is at the foundation of Kappa’s values of equality and mutual respect as reflected in the iconic Omini logo.”
Kappa is currently worn internationally by SSC Napoli, fellow Italian fan favourites Torino and Leeds United in the England’s Championship.
“We are working closely with Football Queensland to develop an exciting range of on and off-field products that will be unveiled shortly,” Bogaty added.
State representative players will take to the pitch in Kappa for the first time at the FFA National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour later this year.
