Brisbane Roar have announced the re-signing of Westfield W-League coach Mel Andreatta.
Andreatta ascended to the top job before the 2016/17 Westfield W-League campaign, after previously working at the Roar as an assistant and as Queensland’s National Training Centre coach.

Andreatta was profiled in March 2016 for Female Football Week, where she spoke of her passion for developing younger players.
“I think it’s always been in my character to want to teach or work with younger players,” Andreatta explained.
“I was the oldest in a pretty big, extended family and always responsible for the youngest ones and had to entertain them. It evolved naturally really.”
The Roar Women finished seventh in the 2016/17 Westfield W-League with four wins from 12 games, but a second preseason under the same coaching staff will undoubtedly go a long way towards improvement in 2017/18.
The signing means both Roar head coaching positions are locked in for the future, after the Roar earlier announced men’s coach John Aloisi has signed a three-year extension as men’s coach.
