Football Queensland (FQ) has today announced the 2020 Football in Queensland Awards Week, to be held online from Monday, 14 December featuring a host of awards celebrating the season.
The Football in Queensland Awards Week will see awards presented in a number of categories across the National Premier Leagues (NPL) Queensland and the Football Queensland Premier League (FQPL) competitions, alongside a series of awards acknowledging achievements of community clubs and individuals.
“Football Queensland is delighted to confirm the details of the 2020 Football in Queensland Awards Week, which will be a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge the achievements and accomplishments of Queensland players, coaches, referees, clubs and volunteers,” FQ President Ben Richardson said.
“After a year that has provided many challenges, Football Queensland is looking forward to recognising the outstanding individuals and clubs who contribute so much to football across the state.”
FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said the Football in Queensland Awards Week would be a reflection of the organisation’s vision to unite the game.
“Football Queensland is excited to celebrate the achievements of those involved in a 2020 season which was like no other,” Cavallucci said.
“It is important that we take the time to come together and acknowledge the contributions of members of our football community, many of whom were instrumental in getting our game back up and running after the challenges presented by COVID-19.
“The format of this year’s Football in Queensland Awards Week will be unique, with award nominees and recipients to be announced on Football Queensland’s website and social media channels in a week-long celebration of the season.
“As well as recognising the best players, coaches, teams and match officials from the NPL Queensland and the FQPL competitions, Football Queensland is also looking forward to celebrating the valuable contributions of individuals and clubs at community level across the state.”
Nominations for awards across the NPL Queensland and FQPL competitions will be published from Tuesday, 8 December before award winners are announced across all categories from next Monday, 14 December.
