How Coach of the Year nominees and award winners are determined
The Coach of the Year is awarded to the best First Team coach during the regular season.
As per the 2020 Competition Regulations, the award is determined based on a combination of 3-2-1 votes cast by the Head Coach of each club following the conclusion of the regular season plus any other reasonable justification as determined by Football Queensland, such as overall performance.
Head Coaches are prohibited from casting 3-2-1 votes for themselves.
A Head Coach is ineligible to win the Coach of the Year if the Head Coach has been suspended as a result of being sent from the Field of Play during a match or as the result of a Disciplinary Committee Hearing.
A Head Coach is also ineligible for the award if they have been the Head Coach for less than 10 regular season games.
