The draw has today been released for the upcoming Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) State Carnival, to be held as part of Football Queensland’s WinterFest from Wednesday, 7 July to Saturday, 10 July.
“WinterFest is set to be a great showcase and celebration of our beautiful game, bringing together participants and families from across the state for one of Queensland’s largest ever football carnivals,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“The inaugural event will provide an exciting atmosphere and fantastic backdrop for the first SAP State Carnival of 2021, which will feature young players from across South East Queensland and participants from regional SAP programs in North and Far North Queensland, Mackay, Central Queensland and Wide Bay.
“Running alongside the SAP State Carnival, there will be plenty of participation opportunities and activities for all members of the family to enjoy including Walking Football come and try sessions, a MiniRoos holiday clinic, FIFA eSports Zone and Brisbane Roar FC meet and greet.
“We look forward to welcoming some of the state’s best young players and their families to FQ headquarters here at Meakin Park next month for four days of action both on and off the field.”
FQ State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer said the SAP State Carnival would provide a valuable experience for the young players in attendance.
“FQ is excited to host the first SAP State Carnival of the year this July, with Under 9 to Under 12 Boys and U9/10 and U11/12 Girls teams to meet here at Meakin Park,” Ganczer said.
“Across the four-day event, young footballers from across the SEQ SAP teams and from our regional SAP programs will each compete in eight matches against their peers from around Queensland, with over 600 games to be played.
“State events like the upcoming carnival not only provide unique opportunities for both metro and regional players to test their skills, but also create lasting memories for the young footballers involved.”
