Members of the Queensland football community from across the state are invited to celebrate the season at the 2021 Football in Queensland Awards Night.
The 2021 event will be held at Brisbane City Hall on Saturday, 30 October and will recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and clubs from all levels of the game.
Football Queensland’s highest individual accolades will be awarded to the state’s most outstanding male and female players, referees and coaches, while the contributions and service of volunteers and administrators from across the state will also be honoured on the night.
“The Football in Queensland Awards Nights will be a fantastic occasion to celebrate the 2021 season and the remarkable achievements of the individuals and clubs who played a part,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“We’re excited to bring together members of our Queensland football family from all parts of the state for a special night of celebrations as we honour those who contribute so much to our beautiful game.
“After another year of ongoing challenges due to the impacts of COVID-19, the Football in Queensland Awards Night provides a fitting opportunity to celebrate what we have been able to achieve here in Queensland by working together to ensure the 2021 season could go ahead.”
Nominees in each category will be announced in the coming weeks, with individuals and teams to be awarded at both community level and from FQ’s Premier competitions.
Competition awards to be presented will include Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and the Mark Shield Medal for Senior Referee of the Year among others, alongside community awards including Volunteer of the Year, Service to Football and Community Club of the Year.
