A full weekend of action returns in the FQPL Metro competitions with both the Men and Women playing this weekend. Here is what we can expect!
FQPL 3 Metro Men’s
The Lakes will be hoping to continue their form from last week after getting a huge 1-0 win over Pine Hills. They face a trip to Newmarket in the early kick off on Saturday afternoon with the sides only separated by 2 points. Western Spirit and The Gap will both be hoping to make it two wins from two when they square off at Kippen Park. Bayside have had a strong start to the season and will be looking to continue their pursuit of a title when they travel to Centenary.
UQFC will be looking for answers against Toowong after losing last weekend and midweek in the Cup with a hope of picking up their first points of the season. Acacia Ridge have an eye on going into the top four with a win against Mt Gravatt Hawks who are yet to record a victory in 2022. The late Sunday match up sees a current top of the table clash between St George and Pine Hills with both sides eager to put themselves in a strong position moving forward.
FQPL 3 Metro Women’s
After a weekend off last week the FQPL 3 Metro Women’s returns with a full slate of games. North Star and Bethania look horns with both sides yet to record a victory in 2022. Ipswich City Bulls and Toowong will be locked in a tough battle as both sides look for much needed points in the early stages to put themselves in a strong position. High flyers North Brisbane will be hoping to continue their rich run of goalscoring form when they host Springfield United in a late kick off on Saturday.
Slacks Creek will have their work cut out for them at Usher Park as Caboolture look to back up their expectations this coming weekend. The Sunday match up sees Southside Eagles host Mt Gravatt with both sides evenly poised in a top four battle through these early stages.
