Football Queensland is excited to release the 2023 – 2026 One Football Strategic Plan for football in Queensland, designed to meet the targets and ambitions of a united, national strategy for the game.
The release of the Strategic Plan follows the successful implementation of the transformative Future of Football 2020+ reforms that have brought a generational shift in the way the game is governed and administered across the state.
“Football Queensland is delighted to launch our 2023 – 2026 Strategic Plan as we continue to work closely and collaboratively with Football Australia and other Member Federations to unite the game behind a common purpose and shared vision with a One Football approach,” FQ President Ben Richardson said.
“The national One Football strategy released on FA’s website today was assembled collaboratively between Football Australia and Member Federations. An agreed national strategy was critical in shaping the ambitions, focus areas and measures of success for Queensland moving forward to ensure football remains the game of choice for all, for life.
“Football Queensland was proud to deliver on the objectives of the 2020 – 2022 strategic planning period with unparalleled growth in every part of the state over the last three years, and we’re excited to now look ahead to the next four years as we continue to shape a bright future for football here in Queensland.”
“The 2023 – 2026 Strategic Plan supports a national One Football vision for the game across four key pillars while detailing key targets and plans for execution at state level to deliver strong outcomes for our Queensland football community,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“After the successful implementation of the Future of Football 2020+ reforms, we’re confident that Queensland can continue to lead the way in unlocking the potential of football and the success of the game at a national level, by driving our One Football approach and working alongside Football Australia and our fellow Member Federations.
“As outlined in the 2023 – 2026 Strategic Plan, Football Queensland fundamentally believes that women and girls are the future with female participation continuing as a major focus for our state and for the game as a whole as we strive to achieve the Queensland and national target of 50/50 gender parity by 2027.
“The commencement of this next strategic period will align with the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ taking place in our own backyard, with the biggest global women’s sporting event set to act as an incredible launchpad for the continued growth of women’s football not only in Queensland but across the country.
“Football Queensland is looking forward to working with members of our football community from across the game to deliver on this Strategic Plan and shape a bright future for football in Queensland.”
