Football Queensland (FQ) has confirmed the clubs that have been awarded licences for the 2023 F-League and newly launched FQ Futsal Premier League (FQ FPL) season.
The two competitions will form the foundations of Queensland’s senior connected futsal pyramid, with Football Queensland introducing the FQ Futsal Premier League this year for both senior men and women as the feeder to the highest tier in the pyramid, the F-League.
“This is an exciting addition to the sport, providing a genuine pathway to representing Queensland for the growing community of FQ affiliated futsal clubs,” FQ Manager – Futsal Vince Sciacca said.
“With the third season of F-League launching in 2023, I’m excited to once again see our state’s best futsal players go head to head in what is set to be a fierce competition.
“Offering greater opportunities for aspirational futsal clubs, FQ will continue to develop the futsal pathway beyond this season with plans to introduce promotion within the league tiers of the Queensland futsal pyramid from 2025.”
The FQ Futsal Premier League season will begin mid-June followed by the F-League Men and Women competitions which are set to kick off late July; more details will be released shortly.
