Women and girls across the South Coast will have the opportunity to get involved in the beautiful game as Football Queensland delivers Girls United programs in the region throughout October and November.
Catering to female participants of all ages and skill levels, programs on offer will include Girls United Social Sessions, a Girls United Social League and a Girls United Carnival.
“After hosting the biggest ever FIFA Women’s World Cup™ last month, there’s a huge appetite for football among women and girls including many who have never played the game before,” FQ Senior Manager – Game Development Kate Lawson said.
“Football Queensland is focused on providing accessible participation opportunities to cater to this demand and is excited to deliver three formats of the Girls United offering on the South Coast in the coming weeks as we head into the off-season.
“Whether you’re looking for casual, social sessions to develop your skills, a more structured, social league format, or if you’re keen to get involved in a day of small-sided games as part of a celebration of women’s football, there really is something for everyone.
“Girls United also provides a wonderful platform to transition from social football to more traditional, club-based formats of the game for those women and girls who are looking to progress as footballers.
“We look forward to welcoming new and returning participants for our upcoming Girls United programs on the South Coast as we round out an incredible year for women’s football in Queensland.”
The upcoming Girls United programs will be hosted by Football Queensland at centralised venue Legends FC.
