Football Queensland has confirmed the Provisional Declaration of Leagues for Under 9 to Under 18 Boys Advanced Junior competitions for 2024.
The Provisional Declaration of Leagues includes the proposed composition of leagues across the FQ Academy Cup, the FQ Academy Leagues and MiniSeries.
“Football Queensland’s extensive Club Assessment process undertaken by the FQ Club Development Unit continues to form the basis for the composition, design and rank of the advanced junior leagues for boys and girls, establishing a comprehensive evaluation of each club’s junior development program and technical environment built on global best practice,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“Each of the 40 FQ Academy clubs are observed and assessed across 75 different criteria with over 1,500 data points, before receiving an FQ Club Assessment score and a rating of Gold, Silver, Bronze or Development Committed.
“The Club Rank Score of each club determines the assembly of these advanced junior leagues, with an algorithm predominately weighted towards the Club Assessment score, alongside a minor weighting of league specific ladder points and other factors.
“Football Queensland would like to congratulate each of our FQ Academy clubs for their ongoing commitment to improving junior player development outcomes, and will continue to work with these clubs to facilitate their ongoing progression as we strive for the delivery of outstanding advanced club environments across each league.”
FQ Academy QAS Girls teams will continue to participate in FQ Academy Boys leagues and the NPL Women’s leagues in 2024.
The Provisional Declaration of Leagues for 2024 Girls Advanced Junior competitions will be released shortly following clubs’ confirmation of participation within each age group.
A club’s participation in FQ Academy leagues for the 2024 season is contingent upon confirmation of a club’s FQ affiliation, and approval and compliance with various conditions (mandatory or otherwise) contained within FQ advanced junior participation licence agreements. Participation is not guaranteed to any club in any league until the final Declaration of Leagues is made by FQ and the club is invited to complete a licence agreement. Some clubs’ Rank Score may be still under review.
