Football Queensland has released further information regarding the talent identification and trial process for the Sunshine Coast United FQ Academy program.
Sunshine Coast United is an advanced junior player development program delivered by Football Queensland to further expand pathway opportunities in the Sunshine Coast region, with Sunshine Coast United teams set to participate in the FQ Academy Leagues in 2024.
The talent identification and trial process for the Sunshine Coast United program will be undertaken by Football Queensland in partnership with Sunshine Coast Wanderers, providing a multi-tier pathway within the region to accommodate advanced junior player development outcomes.
The collaboration between Football Queensland and Sunshine Coast Wanderers will also include the delivery of additional matches between players across both programs throughout the year to accommodate continued talent identification opportunities, as well as some common training sessions to provide ongoing challenges for players.
Expression of Interest forms to join the Sunshine Coast United program have been distributed this week to Sunshine Coast clubs who wish to nominate players for the program, with talent identification sessions to be scheduled in the following weeks alongside confirmation of venues for trials.
Existing FQ Academy players can self-nominate for the Sunshine Coast United program by completing an expression of interest via the links below, including players from the 2023 Tier 2 Development Centre program.

Further information on trial dates and venues will be communicated directly to those invited to trial, with trials to commence in the week beginning Monday, 13 November.
Expressions of interest are also open for coaches and assistant coaches interested in joining the Sunshine Coast United program. Submit an EOI here.
Expressing an interest does not guarantee a player an invitation to trial. All applicants will be screened and issued an invitation by technical staff who wish to see those players trial. In the event a player does not progress to trial, they will be informed via email.
