Football Queensland’s Summer Festival of Futsal will hit the Gold Coast in January in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland and Major Events Gold Coast, with Kurrawa Beach playing host to a Beach Soccer Carnival on Saturday, 13 January and Sunday, 14 January 2024.
Following the success of Football Queensland’s inaugural Beach Soccer event in 2022, the Beach Soccer Carnival will welcome teams across Senior Men’s, Senior Women’s and Junior age groups.
“Football Queensland can’t wait to kick off the year by bringing a first-of-its-kind Summer Festival of Futsal to the beautiful Gold Coast in January, headlined by the National Futsal Championships,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“Alongside the major national event and a Football Threes activation, the second edition of Football Queensland’s Beach Soccer Carnival will give locals and visitors alike the chance to witness all the excitement of the unique form of football across two pitches, while immersing themselves in a vibrant carnival atmosphere.
“Participating teams will also have the opportunity to battle it out to the sound of the surf as they vie to be crowned Beach Soccer Champions across three competitions in an unmissable weekend of action.”
Additional attractions across the weekend will include a footvolley showcase match and an ‘Altinha Arena’ showcase, providing an exciting display of ball control and athleticism.
Football Queensland is now welcoming expressions of interest to participate in the 2024 Beach Soccer Carnival.
