Football Queensland is driving innovation in community fixturing for the 2026 season and beyond, unlocking the ability for clubs to receive draws for community competitions several months earlier than ever before and delivering transformational benefits to clubs and participants in every part of the state.
“Football Queensland is proud to roll out a transformed community fixturing process ahead of the 2026 season as we continue to improve the participant experience as part of FQ’s ongoing evolution into a club-centric customer service organisation,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“Through the new fixturing process, Football Queensland will allocate clubs a ‘Foundation Allocation’ of fixtured teams in November, reflecting approximately 70% of their community team volume and based on their 2025 community competition entries.
“Following the public statewide release of the ‘Foundation Allocation’ fixtures in early December for community competitions, clubs will have a follow up window in January to nominate an additional cohort of teams through the ‘Supplementary Nomination’ process for age groups in which they experience growth or change, allowing remaining community competition fixtures to be confirmed earlier than any previous season and delivering certainty to clubs and participants alike.
“The transformed process will deliver clubs and participants certainty whilst maintaining flexibility for growth, enabled by the implementation of several significant developments that increase the utility of Squadi for clubs, including the enhanced Notice of Offer dashboard, effectively alleviating pressure on club administrators by minimising the severe impacts of volatile late team additions and withdrawals for the 2026 season.”
As preparations for the new season continue, Football Queensland has also launched a new Club Support Hub which will deliver crucial guidance to Queensland clubs at every point of the season and allow administrators to book support time directly with FQ’s Customer Service Team.
