Football Queensland has named the Queensland squads that will represent the state at the 2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships, to be held in partnership with Experience Gold Coast from Tuesday, 13 January to Saturday, 17 January 2026 at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre and Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium.
“With the futsal community heading to Queensland in the new year, it’s great to be able to announce the squads who will represent our state at the 2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships,” Football Queensland Senior Manager – Corporate Services Vince Sciacca said.
“This tournament gives our players a brilliant opportunity to test themselves against the best in the country and showcase the strength of futsal in Queensland. This year, we’ve also introduced our Queensland Silver squads as part of the FQ Emerging State Futsal teams, providing talented players from across our Northern and Central Conferences with access to an advanced representative pathway in all parts of the state.
“After a really strong home tournament in 2024 and multiple titles won in 2025, 2026 marks the first of three years Queensland will host the national event, giving us a great opportunity to keep building the momentum of what we’ve been developing on and off the court.
“The FQ Futsal State Titles and the wider futsal season were a big part of the selection process, with players earning their spots through strong, consistent performances. The AWD, boys’, girls’, youth and open men’s and women’s squads reflect the depth of talent across the state and the ongoing work and investment we have made in futsal in Queensland.
“We congratulate all players selected and look forward to seeing them compete against the best teams in Australia and represent Queensland with pride.”
