Football Queensland is pleased to announce that the 2026 NPL Queensland and FQPL 1 Grand Finals will be held at one of the state’s most iconic football venues, Spencer Park.
The NPL and FQPL 1 Men’s and Women’s seasons will draw to a close on Saturday, 12 September as four unmissable Grand Finals are held at the venue that has played host to some of the most memorable moments in Queensland football history.
“We’re excited to bring our state’s premier Grand Finals to a venue that holds so many fond memories for Queensland football fans, from thrilling NSL matches in the 1970s and 1980s to the more recent excitement of the Hahn Australia Cup Final Rounds and the Ninja A-League,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“Football Queensland will transform Spencer Park to deliver an enhanced match day experience for Grand Final attendees as we continue elevating our state’s premier competitions, with bolstered amenities, food and entertainment creating a carnival atmosphere for our football community to enjoy alongside all the on-field action.
“The NPL and FQPL 1 Grand Finals will provide a wonderful opportunity for participants and fans to come together and celebrate the conclusion of another highly competitive season of football in our advanced leagues while showcasing our state’s top players, coaches and match officials.
“The decision to take our premier Grand Finals to Spencer Park in 2026 following previous events at Perry Park and Suncorp Stadium reflects the ongoing challenges posed by ageing infrastructure at the grassroots level and the increasingly limited availability of Suncorp Stadium due to increasing concert demand and scheduling conflicts with other prioritised codes.
“Football Queensland has made considerable progress with the Queensland Government to develop a Tier 2 football venue in Brisbane, and we look forward to continuing this work to deliver a purpose-built Tier 2 stadium that reflects the game’s significance to the Queensland community.”
