Queensland match officials will benefit from a $0 FQ enrolment fee in 2027 as Football Queensland removes the enrolment fee for every match official across the state. 

The removal of enrolment fees represents a significant investment in referees, as Football Queensland continues to deliver on its 10-point plan to transform refereeing by removing barriers and building a stronger, more sustainable pathway to officiating. 

“Football Queensland is proud to confirm that all match officials will pay $0 in FQ enrolment fees to referee in 2027 in a major boost for Queenslanders as we make it even easier for participants in every corner of the state to become a referee,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said. 

“We have a strong plan, and we are delivering for officials in Queensland. We are making officiating more accessible and have already launched the game-changing ‘club referee’ framework this year to drive an increase in match official numbers by creating a pipeline of referees within clubs at the grassroots level. 

“By reducing barriers to officiating through the removal of match official enrolment fees for 2027, Football Queensland’s additional investment in referee ‘match day’ development and training will also see a significant expansion of the statewide match day coaching program, delivering benefits to match officials in every region. 

“With match officials playing such an integral role within our ever-growing game, we look forward to continuing the rollout of our 10-point referee plan initiatives to transform refereeing across the state.”

The above information only applies to Football Queensland enrolment fees. Registration with Football Australia on the PlayFootball system remains mandatory, with fees for the 2027 season yet to be announced by FA.
