Football Queensland has confirmed the 2027 Provisional Declaration of Leagues for advanced junior boys and girls.
The release of the Provisional Declaration of Leagues for the FQ Academy Leagues follows the completion of FQ’s extensive Club Assessment process in which the Club Development Unit observes, measures and assesses over 1,500 data points across 75 different criteria for each FQ Academy club.
“Football Queensland’s annual Club Development Assessment process is aligned with global best practice and ensures the delivery of quality assured club programs and defined pathways for young players,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“The Club Assessment process continues to serve as the foundation for the structure, design, and ranking of advanced junior leagues for both boys and girls as we look ahead to the 2027 season.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the dedication of our FQ Academy clubs, who play an integral role in the development of our state’s talented young players as we continue to build stronger pathways and high-performance environments to help the next generation of Queensland players excel.”
Following review of the technical versus logistical benefits and in line with feedback received from clubs, the FQ Academy Leagues 2 and 3 for girls have been combined into a League 2 only for 2027, split into Maroon and White leagues based on club rank score and geographical consideration.
A club’s participation in FQ Academy leagues for the 2027 season is contingent upon confirmation of a club’s FQ affiliation, and approval and compliance with various conditions (mandatory or otherwise) contained within FQ advanced junior participation licence agreements. Participation is not guaranteed to any club in any league until the final Declaration of Leagues is made by FQ and the club is invited to complete a licence agreement. Some clubs’ Rank Score may be still under review.
