The Football Queensland (FQ) board of directors has made the decision not to apply relegation to the National Premier Leagues (NPL) Queensland 2018 season.

As a result of Cairns FC and North Queensland United relinquishing their NPL Queensland licences last week, no club will be relegated from the competition in 2018.

Peninsula Power and Eastern Suburbs will be promoted from the Football Queensland Premier League (FQPL) and will join Gold Coast Knights FC to form a 15-team NPL Queensland competition in 2019.

The FQPL will consist of 11 teams in the 2019 season.
