Welcome to the fq junior cup
On behalf of Football Queensland, I’d like to welcome all participants and their families to the 2025 FQ Junior Cup.
Delivered in partnership with Sunshine Coast Council and Visit Sunshine Coast, and hosted across 10 fields at Maroochydore FC from Sunday, 29 June to Tuesday, 1 July, this year’s tournament shines a spotlight on the incredible talent emerging across Queensland.
With teams representing every regional FQ Academy centre and invited sides from South East Queensland, the Junior Cup plays a vital role in our Talent ID and player development system. I’m proud of the opportunities this tournament provides for young players to test themselves in a competitive setting, build connections with their peers, and showcase their skills in front of Football Queensland coaching and technical staff.
As we return to the Sunshine Coast this year, I encourage you to take in the best of what the region has to offer – from the world class beaches to the welcoming community and scenic surrounds.
I want to thank Sunshine Coast Council and Visit Sunshine Coast for their continued support in bringing this event to life and creating a memorable experience for all involved.
I wish all players, coaches and referees the very best for the tournament, and I look forward to seeing Queensland’s next generation of footballers in action.

Welcome Message from Sunshine Coast
Greetings to all the young athletes, families, officials and supporters from across the state joining us at Maroochydore Football Club for this exciting celebration of junior football.
We’re proud to host this lively event on the Sunshine Coast, where the spirit of competition meets the passion for developing future sporting stars.
With teams from five FQ Academy regional centres and South East Queensland, this tournament highlights our region’s growing reputation as a hub for sport in Queensland.
More than just a competition, the Junior Cup reflects a commitment to nurturing young talent and building pathways for future success. It’s also part of a bigger journey, as the Sunshine Coast looks ahead to hosting preliminary football matches at Sunshine Coast Stadium for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
While you’re here, we invite you to explore our stunning Sunshine Coast Biosphere, from pristine beaches to lush hinterland, and enjoy the many local attractions that make our region fun for families.
On behalf of Sunshine Coast Council, I wish every player the very best. May your time here be filled with great games, new friendships and unforgettable memories – on and off the field.
Good luck and have fun!
