The Football Queensland Premier League enters its sixth year in 2023 with two divisions.
The FQPL 1, which acts as a second tier of football in Queensland, provides a pathway for clubs to achieve promotion to the National Premier Leagues Queensland Men’s competition.
In 2022, Redlands United and Rochedale Rovers both achieved promotion to the NPL with Redlands securing both the Premiership and Grand Final Championship.
Meanwhile, Surfers Paradise Apollo, Albany Creek Excelsior, and Wynnum Wolves FC secured their promotion from FQPL 2 with Surfers Paradise Apollo winning both the Premiership and Grand Final championship.
In 2023, 12 teams will compete for the FQPL 1 Premiership and 12 teams will compete for the FQPL 2 Premiership.
The premiership winner of the 2023 FQPL 2 season will progress to FQPL 1 in 2024, while the bottom two teams in FQPL 1 will be relegated.
