Summer Football is one of the most popular off-season social programs for men and women, with junior and senior competitions delivered by Football Queensland and clubs across the state.
The revised social format involves smaller fields with teams of up to 7 players to create a fun, social environment for you to enjoy playing the world game with your friends throughout summer. Find a program to join below.
Hosting a Summer Football program is an excellent opportunity to keep your current players engaged, while also attracting new participants to your club. Whether it’s inviting players to bring along friends and family or reaching out to local businesses or schools to form new teams, Summer Football provides plenty of potential to expand your club’s community.

How many players on a Summer Football team?
Team sizes are determined by the competition manager but can range from 4v4 up to 7v7.
Can I sign up for Summer Football as an individual player?
Most club’s and venue’s require teams to register to play Summer Football however, some competitions may allow individuals to sign up and be placed in a team. Check with your local Summer Football provider if they offer this option.
What size are Summer Football fields?
Summer Football matches are played on small sided fields due to the reduced number of players on the pitch. Typically, field sizes can range from U6/7 up to U12 depending on the number of players that take the field.
How many substitutions can I make during a Summer Football match?
Teams have unlimited interchange during Summer Football matches.
