Football Queensland is excited to announce the 2025 FQ Academy State Championships which will see Queensland’s most promising young players from across the state return to Moreton Bay on Tuesday, 8 July to Saturday, 12 July 2025.
Delivered in partnership with Moreton Bay Council, the FQ Academy State Championships will feature Under 13 to Under 16 Boys & U14 – U16/17 Girls teams from across the state, providing a critical platform for player identification and tracking of individual player development within Football Queensland’s statewide development pathway.
FQ General Manager – Football & State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer highlighted the significance of the FQ Academy State Championships in shaping the next generation of Queensland footballers.
“The FQ Academy State Championships serve as a cornerstone event of Football Queensland’s talent development calendar, offering young athletes the opportunity to compete in a high-performance environment while being assessed by our talent identification and technical staff,” Ganczer said.
“As Queensland’s only Football Australia-recognised youth development pathway, the FQ Academy tournament plays an integral role in the selection process for our state teams ahead of the 2025 National Youth Championships and is a vital opportunity for our emerging players across the state to demonstrate their abilities and take the next step in their footballing journey.
“Football Queensland extends its thanks to City of Moreton Bay Council for their continued support in delivering this event as we work to provide more high-quality development opportunities for young players.
“We look forward to welcoming players, coaches, referees, and supporters to the FQ Academy State Championships and hope they enjoy both the tournament and all that the City of Moreton Bay has to offer.”
Mayor Peter Flannery said it was exciting to see the FQ Academy State Championships returning to City of Moreton Bay again this year.
“We’re proud to host some of the state’s most talented players and look forward to seeing some thrilling games throughout the championships,” Mayor Flannery said.
