Shortlisted players announced for Queensland squads to take on Brisbane Roar FC and Australian Championship Qualifier in 2025 Mitre Festival of Football

Football Queensland is delighted to announce the shortlisted players and coaches for the Queensland men’s and women’s teams that will compete in the 2025 Mitre Festival of Football.

The Queensland state teams will have the opportunity to take on the Brisbane Roar FC, while the Queensland men’s team will also face the Australian Championship qualifier team, the 2025 NPL Queensland Premiers.

“It is with great excitement that we announce the players shortlisted for the men’s and women’s Queensland State teams, a selection that reflects the incredible talent witnessed during the 2025 NPL season,” General Manager – Football, Infrastructure & Club Development Ryan Fett said.

“Selected through performance metrics gathered throughout the 2025 NPL season, this shortlisted squad contains the very best of Queensland football, who will have the fantastic opportunity to test themselves in a unique and highly competitive environment against the Brisbane Roar.

“We are excited to celebrate the end of another thrilling season of NPL with the Mitre Festival of Football; with games against both the Brisbane Roar and the Queensland qualifier team for the Australian Championship to look forward to, it promises to be an excellent showcase of the high calibre of Football that Queensland has to offer.”

The Queensland shortlisted state team squad selection process, overseen by Football Queensland’s Technical Department, was based on various player performance metrics and Hudl Wyscout data analytics, Team of the Week appearances and 3-2-1 votes throughout the season.

The Queensland state teams will play the following games:

Saturday, 20 September – Queensland Men vs Brisbane Roar #1

Tuesday, 23 September – Queensland Men vs Brisbane Roar #2

Saturday, 27 September – Australian Championship Qualifier vs Queensland Men

Tuesday, 30 September – Queensland Women vs Brisbane Roar Women
