Mayor's Welcome Message
Our city’s catchcry is: Get Up and Gold Coast.
When it comes to the Mitre National Futsal Championships, that’s exactly what hundreds of Queensland and interstate players will do when they hit the courts for this thrilling five-day tournament.
As Mayor, I thank Football Queensland and affiliate clubs for showing faith in our city, signing on for the next three years.
Futsal remains one of the most exhilarating sports and hosting the 2026 championships is a true privilege. I pay special mention to the athletes facing physical challenges, competing in the AWD category. You continue to inspire us with your determination and zest for life.
When the action is over, please find time to stay a little longer and get out and about, exploring Australia’s favourite holiday destination. You will find plenty to do at our theme parks, beaches, retail precincts and nature reserves. Get Up and Gold Coast!

Mayor of the Gold Coast
CEO's Welcome Message
On behalf of Football Queensland, it is my pleasure to welcome players, coaches, officials and families from across Australia to the beautiful Gold Coast for the 2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships.
Following the overwhelming success of the 2024 edition of the tournament hosted on the Gold Coast, we’re delighted to have secured the hosting rights for the Mitre National Futsal Championships for the next three years in partnership with Experience Gold Coast, cementing our state as the home of Australia’s pinnacle futsal event.
I’d like to extend a special thank you to Experience Gold Coast for their support in bringing the biggest event on the national futsal calendar back to our state this year as we work together to establish the Mitre National Futsal Championships as an unmissable event for locals and visitors alike.
Best of luck to all players, coaches and officials participating in this year’s tournament, and we look forward to seeing you in action on the court throughout the week!
