ABOUT
The National Premier Leagues (NPL) Queensland Women’s is the state’s top football competition, which underpins the Westfield W-League and operates in each Member Federation under a single national banner.
In 2020, Gold Coast United secured the NPL Women’s Premiership after winning 17 of its 20 games. Lions FC, which finished second on the ladder behind Gold Coast, won the Grand Final for the second consecutive season.
In 2021, the competition has increased from 13 teams to 17 with the addition of Brisbane City, Olympic FC, Peninsula Power and Virginia United.
Each club will play each other once during for the first 17 rounds, before the league splits into two groups in July. The top eight teams will form one group to play off for the Premiership and Championship, while the bottom nine teams will form a secondary group to battle for promotion.
The team which finishes first in the secondary group will secure a spot in the 2022 NPL Women’s competition, with the remaining eight teams form a new FQPL Women’s Division in 2022.
Fans of the NPL Women’s competition will be able to watch every First Grade match LIVE this season on NPL.TV.
