Football Queensland has confirmed the draw details for the opening rounds of the Kappa Queensland Cup as the statewide competition returns for its biggest edition yet. 

2025 marked a year of meaningful progress for Football Queensland, with investment in pathways and development, infrastructure and governance strengthening the foundations of the game through the ongoing delivery of FQ’s key operational strategies.

Football Queensland (FQ) is excited to announce that the Kappa Pro Series will head to the Darling Downs in early 2026, with NPL Queensland sides Brisbane Roar B and Gold Coast United going head-to-head at Stanthorpe International Club on Saturday, 7 February 2026.

Football Queensland has named the Queensland squads that will represent the state at the 2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships, to be held in partnership with Experience Gold Coast from Tuesday, 13 January to Saturday, 17 January 2026 at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre and Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium. 

Football Queensland (FQ) has strengthened its collaboration with Football Northern Territory (FNT) to enhance the delivery of the game across the Territory by delivering initiatives focused on referee education, pathway development, competition management and club support. 

Football Queensland is driving statewide transformation in officiating as it delivers record investment in match officials, forming part of a range of new referee initiatives to deliver on the 2024–2026 Referee Strategy and broader One Football Strategic Plan. 

From 2026, the NPL Men’s and NPL Women’s Player of the Year awards will be named in honour of a great of the game in Queensland, with fans invited to submit their nominations for the naming of the awards.
