CELEBRATING WOMEN & GIRLS IN FOOTBALL
Female Football Week will run from Friday, 2 May to Sunday, 11 May, celebrating the contributions of women and girls in football while creating more opportunities for participation and growth across all levels of the game.
In 2025, FFW will be celebrated alongside Our Game, an initiative designed to build a strong, passionate community that confidently shapes the future of women’s football.
A key highlight of the week, FQ’s Women’s Football Round, will take place from Friday, 2 May, culminating on Sunday, 11 May, coinciding with Mother’s Day and delivering memorable moments across the state.
Clubs across Queensland are encouraged to take part in Female Football Week by hosting activations such as club barbeques, mentor programs, come-and-try days, and more.

The club unites junior/senior female players through training and games. All members can join matchday walkouts. Enter to win a $100 voucher. MiniRoos walk out with teams and eat free.
Targeted at those in the community who aspire to progress their refereeing journey. Panel discussion with current female referees about how their journey in elite refereeing and how they can continue to develop environments to support the growth of women and girls in sports officiating.
The club will host an all-girls training session for junior players, followed by a talk from a guest speaker and club member who played at a national level, and finish with a sausage sizzle.
Holding a fun training run by our U15 girls team as a mentorship opportunity for our younger girls teams. It will involve a blow up field, skill stations, BBQ and raffle for players and mums
The Mackay Lions junior girls are invited to a special training session with our senior players! Come along to meet the team, join in some fun games, and wrap it up like the seniors do – with a Zooper Dooper!
All supporters, players, and coaches of our women’s and girls’ teams are invited to a club celebration. Senior and junior players will team up for a joint training session, Q&A, and pizza, creating a fun night of bonding and shared learning.
Juan from FQ will be visiting to lead MiniRoos coaches training and a series of player development sessions. One of these sessions will be open exclusively to girls, available to all registered club players.
Nerang Soccer Club welcomes all past/present players and supporters to celebrate their female football community! The event features Junior Girls and Senior Women’s matches, lucky door prizes, raffles, and full catering. Join the club in honoring Nerang’s incredible women in sport!
Rochedale Rovers celebrates women in football by uniting players, coaches, and supporters. Junior players will escort seniors onto the pitch, while halftime showcases young talent. A night of recognition, mentorship, and community with special guests and activities.
MiniRoos girls will take centre stage with a half-time match and the special opportunity to run out with the Women’s squad ahead of kick-off, celebrating the next generation of female footballers.
Senior Women will be joining the fun at the Friday night 6/7s muster. They’ll be getting involved in the mini games alongside the kids and sticking around for a post-match BBQ with families and players.
The club is organising a cross-promotion with all our women’s and girls’ players over the weekend. U7s will walk out with our U14 girls, senior players and U14s will attend junior games on Saturday morning, and more exciting activities to celebrate the weekend.
SWQ Thunder is hosting a Female Football Seminar to showcase former Matildas as well as former and current Brisbane Roar players. The event will provide a platform for these athletes to share their journeys in professional football, offering valuable insights and inspiration for young players looking to progress in the game.
Redlynch Strikers & Stratford Dolphins unite for FQPL Women’s Friday night game. Young female players will walk FQPL Women onto field. All members encouraged to attend in support. Wear purple ribbons all week, especially at the game.
Join Logan Lightning for a big night of football with a Female FQPL 1 home game and a MiniRoos Twilight Round just for girls! Celebrate the game with fun, fast-paced matches for our youngest players before cheering on our senior women under the lights.
The club will host a High Tea to celebrate Female Football Week and Mother’s Day. A Mother’s Day raffle will also be held to honour the amazing women in the club.
Leichhardt Junior Soccer Club celebrates Female Football Week with a Super Saturday showcase this weekend at their junior fields. The event features seven consecutive matches against Edge Hill United, spanning U10/11 Girls through to Women’s teams. Designed to promote female participation, the day includes club merchandise, community activities, and canteen services while honoring players, coaches, and volunteers.
The FQPL Central Coast Women’s Round will conclude Female Football Week, celebrating the talent of the region’s top female footballers. The day will kick off with a Community Exhibition Match and feature MiniRoos Half-Time Heroes.
Robina City’s Senior Women will be on the sidelines, cheering on the junior girls. A great chance for young players to feel supported and inspired by their club’s senior stars.

A fun-filled celebration of women and girls in football as part of Female Football Week! The day will feature two senior women’s games, exciting on-field challenges like crossbar and penalty shootout comps (with great prizes!), MiniRoos small-sided games, and a special women’s health education session led by a local physio.
Palm Beach SC’s sponsor Balter will fire up the BBQ and run a half-time penalty shootout challenge. The club will also celebrate football families with a special lap of honour for players with kids or mums.
Three games will be played: two female and one male team. MiniRoos will walk out players, with small-sided games at halftime. Mothers will walk out the boys’ team. Dinner for female players and a live band will finish the event.
A fun-filled all-female football clinic, open to girls and women across the South Burnett! Bring a friend, your mum, aunty or nan, and enjoy an afternoon of exciting drills, fun giveaways, and the chance to meet new people.
A Women in Football Event at Joe Baker Field, inviting all girls and women to enjoy an afternoon and evening together, watching our FQPL Women’s team play, with food, drinks, and a Breast Cancer research fundraiser. This event supports one of our MiniRoos Team Managers diagnosed in 2025.
Hosting a special triple-header event featuring FQPL Men, FQPL Women, and Metro teams. The club invites all supporters to enjoy food, drinks, raffles, and local celebrations. Players will wear pink to mark the occasion.
